40” x 30” - Silkscreen Ink and Acrylic on Wood

This piece began with a photoshoot of a nude model coated in white paint to bring a statuesque texture to the skin. Lit under a spotlight, the model seemed to float in space. After capturing this image in a photo, it was transferred it to a halftone pattern, printed and hand-burned it into a silk screen emulsion. After silkscreening the image to the wood by hand, it was finished with several intricate details and splashes in black and white ink and acrylic.
This painting represents the moment of peaceful clarity of an adventure begun, and the acceptance of an inevitable parting from things left behind.
